A free scan of your WordPress website for the vulnerability known as the XML-RPC pingback weakness. It has been exploited on more than 162,000 sites, as reported by ComputerWeekly in March 2014. In fact this vulnerability is not used to attack your own site, but rather allows hackers to use your web site as a tool to attack other sites. The scan reflects this; it probes your WordPress site for a specific weakness, and if that weakness is found the scan then tries to use it to ‘attack’ a test victim. This test victim site is also owned by TestWebSiteSecurity.
If you’re not sure that you’ve patched this, it’s important to run this scan. Your blog might very well be used by hackers as a tool in mass DDoS scans, used to take other sites off-line!
